Important Covid Update from Robert Page

                                                                                                                      1st November 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Further to my letter dated 30th October we have a second positive test result come back yesterday.  Both positive cases are members of staff who work as part of our pastoral team.  This means that they unfortunately support across all ‘school bubbles’ coming into contact with many staff and pupils.  We have liaised with Public Health England, KCC and school governors. 16 members of staff and 28 pupils have been in close contact so they have been asked to isolate till 7th November.  Happy to say all pupils and staff are not currently showing any symptoms.

To prevent additional cases l have taken the decision to move to ‘remote learning’.  This means all pupils will be at home next week with the plan to be back in school on 9th November as isolating staff should be able to return to work as long as no additional cases appear. Any meetings you may have had with teachers are cancelled. You will be contacted to rearrange.

I will be meeting with teachers tomorrow morning remotely, to discuss our provision for remote learning and they will then be in touch with you shortly after this.

I know this may be challenging for some of our children but l think this will be the norm for the next couple of terms as we deal with the pandemic.  If you have concerns or worries, please contact the school and as always we will do our best to support you in these challenging times.
