Dear Parents/Carers

COVID – Drop-off’s and Collections

Sadly as the number of cases are increasing across the country we need to remain very vigilant.  We must ensure that we are all maintaining our high standards of hygiene.

Morning drop offs appear to be working very well, so thank you everyone for your co-operation.

The end of the day remains more of a problem as we are not able to stagger departure times as easily as we can in the morning.  Therefore can l ask for your continued support to ensure we are able to keep pupils, staff and parents safe at the end of the day with the following new guidelines -

·         Pupils on school minibuses and taxis will continue to depart first.

·         Parents/carers who are walking to collect their child, we will now ask you to please wait at the designated markings and queue towards St Anthony’s Way. Please do not enter the pickup area, a member of staff will invite you to come in once we have pupils on the minibuses and taxis, to free up space around the pupil’s entrance. Can l please ask you to wear a mask when you come on site, as maintaining social distancing might be a challenge.

·         Parents/Carers collecting their child by vehicle - if you can stay outside the school premises until just after 2:40. Once the minibuses and taxis have departed, you can then drive in and collect your child safely.

·         If Parents/Carers need to speak with school staff can we ask that you do this via a range of methods - phone, TEAMs, ZOOM or Dojo but please not at the end of the school day.

We need to do this, as we are not maintaining social distancing, as the space by the pupil’s entrance is just too small to accommodate everyone at the end of the day. I realise that this may be an inconvenience, but for the safety of all l think it is the right thing to do.

It remains critical that everybody continues to observe key behaviours:

HANDS - Wash your hands regularly and for at least 20 seconds.

FACE - Cover your face in enclosed spaces, especially where social distancing may be difficult and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet.

SPACE - Stay 2 metres apart where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place.

Pupils are settling back into the routines of school and good learning is taking place.  This week I have seen some lovely works of art from across the school, examples of some strong literacy skills from pupils in KS2 and I heard of excellent maths work taking place in KS4.  At the end of last week a range of pupils demonstrated their improving gymnastic skills on the trampoline with twists, flips and a double somersault.

The photo is of Ben showing off his Design Skills – shelf with a clock.

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours sincerely
