Head's Message

St Anthony’s is a Foundation Special School and a member of Ksent (Kent Special Education Needs Trust). We are a school that has a desire to deliver ‘Choice’, ‘Opportunity’, ‘Progress’ and ‘Equality’ for all the young people who attend St Anthony’s allowing them to achieve and progress in order to meet their current and future needs and aspirations.

Many of our pupils have not had the same opportunities that others have had and we aim to redress the balance by providing the necessary support and curriculum to ensure our young people are able to engage and thrive within a learning environment. With the support of other professional colleagues we are able to look at the young people as individuals and work collaboratively to meet their individualised or specific needs.

Our young people are encouraged to achieve, whatever their previous experiences through the use of a creative curriculum of core academic and vocational subjects. All of which are matched to appropriate accredited outcomes so when the time is right our young people are able to move back into mainstream education or onto further/higher education.

Our last OfSTED report and regular pupil and parent feedback agree that we are successful due to the positive relationships and exciting curriculum and activities that take place at school.

We are very proud of the work we do at St Anthony’s, whether that is ensuring students attain the best they can, engaging the hard to reach students or our excellent community links. Our vision is to promote these principles through our continued impact in the local area as an outreach and resource centre.

We believe that all our students have something to offer no matter what their needs, it is also a safe place where students learn to control their lives and be special. Mistakes are made but it is the learning from these mistakes that is so important.

We hope you find the website useful
